Day 1: Welcome to the Pearl of Africa – Uganda
On arrival at Entebbe Airport, a representative of Kagera Safaris will be eagerly waiting to receive you. Experience the breeze coming from Lake Victoria – the second largest fresh water lake in the world and is the source of River Nile playing an important role in the ecosystem of Africa. Transfer to Entebbe/Kampala depending on time of arrival.
Day 2: Expedition to the home of the chimpanzees
On second day in Uganda – we leave for the home of Chimpanzees located in Kibale National Park also known as the primate capital of East Africa. Our lunch will be in the beautiful Fortportal town. Enjoy the spectacular landscapes, traditional homes and lots of birds as you drive through the countryside
Day 3: Discover the secrets of the primates
We leave for an early morning Chimpanzee tracking in the primate capital of East Africa – Kibale National Park. This is an unforgettable and rewarding experience. Your experienced ranger guide will lead you as you hike in the tropical forest in search of man’s closest relatives the Chimpanzees in their natural home. After lunch, take a Swamp walk in Bigodi community – proceeds from this help in community development.
Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Medley of Wild Wonders
Today you start journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through Crater lakes (depending on road condition) while enjoying views of the mystical Rwenzori mountain ranges. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. After lunch, have a relaxed afternoon looking forward to the next day’s activities.
Day 5: Medley of Wonders – Game drive and Boat Safari
Africa is home to a vast, unrivalled number of species living in the wild. Queen Elizabeth national park has the highest biodiversity of any protected area in Africa. The best times for game viewing are morning when the predators are looking out for prey and before they go back into hiding. In the afternoon, enjoy a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel – towards Lake Edward where you will watch different wild animals that come to water and those that live therein and numerous species of birds.
Day 6: Transfer to Ishasha – the home of the world’s tree climbing Lions
Ishasha is the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth national park. It is famous for the tree-climbing lions. The predators like to climb fig trees to rest, experience the wind and easily watch their prey because the prey tend to hide in the high savanna grass. Along the lions are a rich bird life and other mammals.
Day 7: Journey to the mountain gorillas
We leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – the home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The drive to Bwindi takes you through communities, homesteads, agricultural lands with beautiful scenery – terraced farms in the Kigezi highlands.
Day 8: Gorillas in the mist
The ultimate safari experience in the ‘jungles of Africa’- the highlight of your safari. Wake up early in preparation for an amazing day with the gigantic but calm creatures – the mountain gorillas. The adventure hiking through the impenetrable forest in search of gorillas is a fulfilling and unique experience, observe them as they eat, play with their young ones and rest. Those who prefer not to participate in the gorilla tracking are welcome to join a guided forest walk or explore the surrounding locale with the community village walk.
Day 9: Whispers of the Wild – The Home of Zebras
After the exhilarating experience in Bwindi Impenetrable forest, we start journey to the calm and beautiful Lake Mburo National Park. This will give you the deserved time to recuperate and reminisce on the Gorilla experience whilst offering great sights of scenery and animal and bird species. Take a boat trip of Lake Mburo and retire later that evening to your lodge.
Day 10: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe – End of your Ugandan Safari
Today you drive back to Kampala, have lunch at the Equator and enjoy picture sessions in both the northern and southern hemispheres. This will mark the end to your lovely holiday. Transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home. Thank you – We hope you will come back to Uganda soon!
